The Nike Dunk SB High Pro SB Pee Wee Herman came to the scene with the inspiration of Pee Wee's Playhouse. The show was concluded in 1991 due to Pee Wee, Paul Rubens, getting arrested for masturbating in an adult movie theatre. The colorway resembles Pee Wee's famous grey suit with a red bow tie. Pee-wee's Playhouse is an American kid's television program glaring Paul Reubens as the child-like Pee-wee Herman. The show was developed from Reubens' popular stage show and the one-off TV special The Pee-wee Herman Show, produced for HBO, which was similar in style but featured much more "adult" humor.
The Pee-wee Herman character was designed by Reubens into a live stage demonstrate entitled The Pee-wee Herman Demonstrate in 1980. It featured many characters that would go on to appear in Playhouse, which include Captain Carl, Jambi the Genie, Miss Yvonne, Pterri the Pterodactyl and Clocky. Although enjoying continuous recognition with the show, Reubens teamed with young director Tim Burton in 1985 to produce the comedy film Pee-wee's Big Adventure. It became one of the year's surprise hits, costing a fairly modest $6 million to create but taking in $45 million in the box office.
